Now the question is— how does this event change me today?

3.1. Victory over sin

The resurrection shows that Jesus defeated the power of sin.
“Christ died for sin once… but now he lives forever.” (Romans 6:9-10)

What does this tell me?

  • I am no longer a slave to sin.
  • Jesus has given me new life.
  • I can live a life of victory over sin.

3.2. Victory over death

Man’s greatest fear is death . But the resurrection of Jesus defeated death:
“O death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55)

Today I can live without fear of death, because:

  • Jesus lives, I live too.
  • Death is not the end for me, but a new beginning.

3.3. New identity and new life

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The resurrection erases my old, sinful identity and gives me a new identity:

  • I am not guilty, I am righteous.
  • I am not disappointed, I am hopeful.
  • I am not alone, I am a child of God.
