“Long ago, even before He made the world, God chose us to be His very own, through what Christ would do for us; He decided then to make us holy in His eyes, without a single fault – we who stand before Him covered with His love Ephesians 1:4

On every continent and in scores of countries, I have asked thousands of people, including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, communists and atheists:

“Who is the greatest person who ever lived?

Who has done more good for mankind than anyone else?”

Among knowledgeable people, the answer is always the same,

“Jesus of Nazareth.”

Born nearly 2,000 years ago, His coming had been foretold for centuries by the great prophets of Israel. The Old Testament, written by many individuals over a period of 1,500 years, contains more than 300 references concerning the promised Messiah. All of these prophecies have been fulfilled in the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus. They could not have referred to anyone else.

That in itself is conclusive evidence of God’s personal and supernatural intervention in history. Jesus’ coming into this world was no accident, and we who trust Him are covered by His love.

What a beautiful picture – covered with His love!

All the armies that ever marched and all the navies that were ever built, and all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned, put together have not affected the life of man upon this earth as has that one solitary life,” declared an anonymous observer in reflecting upon the life of Jesus Christ.

Action Point:  Throughout this day I will picture myself embraced by the arms of the Almighty, His love covering and comforting me. I will share His love and faithfulness with others.

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.” .Ephesians 1:17

There are places and times when we feel we need extra wisdom, insight, guidance and strength. We long for understanding in situations that feel chaotic. We need revelation where confusion reigns and our peace has fled.

God provides all these things to His children through the Holy Spirit. Paul the apostle, prayed for believers to receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so they could know God better. This prayer is still for us today. It reflects what is available to believers… to you and me. Wisdom and revelation to know God better, to receive His strength and guidance, His wisdom and insight right where we walk. This is still our prayer for one another today; especially today.

Confusion and chaos are often part of life. Some external circumstances we have no control over. Yet, internally, we can be equipped by the Holy Spirit of God!  Do we miss the wisdom and revelation we can have from God because we drown out that quiet voice of the Spirit by our noisy lives? In so doing are we actually fanning the chaos and confusion? God waits to equip us to walk in wisdom, revelation, strength and power right where we are. He wants us to know Him better and experience His peace in a greater way, even in the middle of turmoil. Choose to step aside from the noise today. Whether it’s only for a couple of minutes, or longer, invite His hope and His power to give you His wisdom and revelation to know Him better, and to better know how to help demonstrate His peace to those around you.

Heavenly Father, Thank you that Your Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. Thank you that Your Spirit will lead me to know You better. Fill my spirit afresh today with the wisdom and revelation, the strength and comfort I need to walk in the areas that perplex me. Quiet my heart to hear Your Spirit specifically in (name your own perplexing circumstance) . Thank you that You equip me by Your Spirit. I pray these things in the name of Jesus, amen.

Think of one area where you are experiencing perplexity, confusion or chaos and invite God right now to begin to show You His wisdom in this situation. Let Him quiet your heart with His peace now.
