One of my favorite Bible characters is Moses. As a baby in Egypt, Moses was adopted by the Pharaoh’s daughter.
He grew up in luxury while his real family and his people served as slaves. He could have ignored them and lived in comfort. But Moses made a life- altering choice.
In Hebrews 11, we read, “Moses, when he grew up refused to be called the son of the Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.”
We have a similar choice to make. Are we going to try to fit in and be part of the worldly culture? Are we going to be consumed by winning the approval of others? Is our drive going to come from a desire for wealth? Or are we going to devote our lives to following and serving God?
We do have a choice. God loves us and invites us into a fulfilling life with Him, but He never forces us.
