of Jesus’ birth, the descendants of King David packed the rooms of Bethlehem’s inns. Yet it was not to any of these VIPs that God sent His angel to announce the birth of the Savior.

Instead, God revealed the news in spectacular fashion to a group of humble shepherds. The shepherds were urged to go and see the Messiah so many had been waiting for.

They immediately ran to Bethlehem to find Him. After they had met Joseph and Mary, and worshiped the new baby in the manger, they headed back to their sheep on the hillside.

As they went, they told everyone they met the miraculous news of the Messiah’s birth.

Those earthy, lowly shepherds knew that God’s Good News is worth telling. That’s still true today.

You and I have the privilege of sharing it with people we meet. And Christmas is an excellent time to do just that.

“Those earthy, lowly shepherds knew that God’s Good News is worth telling. That’s still true today.”

Luke 2:17

“After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.”
