Welcome to today’s devotion.
The Faith Letter
- Have you ever been perplexed by people who seem to listen to the word of God, and who appear to be taking it, yet never manifest the fruit of God’s blessing in their lives? This is because, what is assumed, is never released. Instead, the word was hidden, the heart remained inactive. Amassed power, but never allowed it to blow to its full potential. What every Christian needs to learn is how to breathe faith so that the supernatural will fill their lives. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Hearing is different from hearing. Listening means receiving what is heard with the intention of acting on it. It produces a probable belief. Second, we obey what we hear without needing any evidence to replace our obedience. Then, the Word becomes, in fact, the substance of our actions.
Obedience to what I have heard from the word of God breathes faith, which is the assurance of things hoped for. In Joshua 3 the priests were told to step on the water while it was still flowing. They heard the word of God, and obeyed, and the water barrier was removed there.
As you are motivated by God’s love for you and the promises made for you in His Word, practice stepping out in pure faith, knowing that whatever seems to be holding you back will soon be removed. Mark 4:35, Jesus says, “Come, let us go over to the other side.” Faith will get you there.
