Welcome to today’s devotion.
Practice vs. System
- Hebrews 11:6
Jesus Christ is not glorified in a system of concepts, but in a practice of faith that derives its substance from the gospel. God wants people to come out of the system and live in one way. A system is an actual way of doing things, because we know how it works, rationally. People’s lives are made up of systems, which they have brought into Christianity. But instead of experiencing that faith that works by love, they add a system of works to salvation. Because they cannot rationally understand receiving something through unearned kindness, they teach the system to be outside of the truth.
It understands the mind of Christ by faith through the word. Faith is an act that produces life, which is grace. People want Christ who lives by experiencing faith through the word. The life of the spirit of Christ is produced only after living according to the word of God. Our minds no longer evaluate and reason, but instead operate with unconditional love. We do not miss the opportunity to reveal Christ to people because our own evaluation system nullifies and ignores the supernatural nature of faith (which is based on grace).
The concept of faith brings trust in trials, peace in storms, victory in the midst of trials, and grace that Christ brings to every person unaware. Under the system of sight, do not even dare to love that which lives below that level, but the conduct of faith that comes from a word, which gives you courage to do something without sight.
