Welcome to today’s devotion.
Permissiveness is not acceptable
- Proverbs 5:3-7, Galatians 6:7
We walk in the honesty of redemption. God has never allowed us to sin. There are certain types of love that God does not allow. God has never allowed physical relations. He allows only divine associations. In heaven, only the company of the Holy Spirit exists. A worldly, carnal love, it is loose in its actions, thoughts and feelings, thinking that maybe God is approving, but be sure that your sin will find you and you will reap what you have sown.
The foolish woman in the parable speaks loudly about persuasiveness through speculation. Have you ever imagined that any relationship is right before God, despite your approval of loving, acting, feeling and thinking without Christ? When was the last time you were hurt? Was it hurt because of self-pity and because you thought so much of yourself, that no one cared about you? Your emotional connection with Adam brought tears to your eyes and you felt completely hurt by Adam’s feelings of self-pity. Or, are you hurting because you never got what you wanted from the Lord in your life? You feel that the Lord has not respected your decisions, that He has not blessed you in particular, because He has not met you with what you thought you needed in your life.
The reason for all this is that you are living in an approved relationship with God. God’s love allows us to live in godliness, in strength and in life – not in favor of anything, but all things come through Calvary.
