Jayamsih!!! Welcome to today’s devotion
Mercy endures forever
John 7:24
- Our judgment is through death and reigns unto eternal life. We live with a false balance in our mental conduct until the weight of the cross is borne upon the situation. The outer man may seem to be perishing under the pressure of time, while the inner man is being revived by the character of God. The steps taken at different times are meaningless compared to the one step taken by Christ on Calvary. Times spent rationalizing man’s failings, or times spent as punitive justice, are narrow times devoid of eternal value.
True worth can be found in the riches of His grace. Perishable thoughts are given by man, while imperishable thoughts are raised by God.
If we have passed through the Red Sea, let us also cross the Jordan cleanly. First, Christ died for us, giving us hope for eternity. Then, Christ died as we died, giving us faith for life in time. In time we experience the fellowship of the Son, and yet time cannot limit the fellowship in our experience. If failure knocks on the door and gives us a place to accept it in our homes, shouldn’t we wait for death to come? Isn’t there a time for us to wait for a momentary return to eternal life? No, because mercy rejoices over justice. While we were dead in sin, we live in grace, which gives us eternal power over the law of sin and power to rule by the Spirit of life.
