Preparing for battle
Joshua 6:8-20
God’s delays are more important than our haste. The Lord never delays, He is always concerned with the practicality of the plan and the truth of the need. Many of us hit the panic switch in an effort to bring about certain events.
While the first outward expression of the inner life with God is endurance, a believer never feels ready for battle when he lives in the anxiety of battle.
Heavenly delays are one of the most valuable opportunities that man has, because they give him the opportunity to fellowship with Christ by faith. When we realize that the first time the walls of Jericho do not fall because of our wandering, we are preparing for battle. Nor did the wall collapse after going around a few times, because Jesus Christ was teaching people how to keep walking, while there was no progress being seen in that process. God refuses to be off schedule. He has all the time to fulfill His purpose in the world. In reality, He has all eternity. A wall falling down, or a battle being won, does not mean so much to him, while it is important to calmly associate with him even in his delay. God does all things orderly and in order, (1 Corinthians 14:40). He does not put a roof on a house until the foundation is laid. He fulfills a need until the root is cut, which produces a need. keep walking Don’t get tired. At the right time, you will reap.
