Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
A listening investment
Mark 4:24
- Learn how to listen. A person who listens and invests in obedience to the offer of God’s revelations, comes to gain the substance for faith in circumstances from Satan, which Satan is always trying to get the believer to act on his feelings. There is not a single believer who has not been tried by Satan through emotional stimulation. It doesn’t mean that you always react emotionally, but rather that your emotions react to some form of it.
Whether you respond outwardly or inwardly to awareness is not the point. An activity in the emotions that is not under the mind of Christ is a reaction against God.
A person who is satisfied with Christ will never commit sins. A person who lives in fear is clearly not satisfied with God, because if he were satisfied with God’s love, he would never live in fear: what is fear in love? People do what they are because they lack what he is. They have to live with the consequences of what they lack in what He has done, so they try to make up for it by substituting something they can do, and withhold the grace He has given from what He has done. And what is Christ doing? He will always live to intercede for us and will be faithful to do what is required of us.
Not being a forgetful hearer means that we are committed to the Spirit in the Word, not just listening to what is in it, but living in it and being affected by it.
