Author’s Words
Hebrews 4:1-2
- When you hear the word, mix it with faith. The word transcends and you are raised up to the height of heaven.
The Spirit wrote this book, and when we were baptized in the Spirit, we were baptized in the book. Many look for evidence of the Spirit other than fruit (Galatians 5:22), which is a direct result of being filled with the Spirit. The fullness of the Spirit comes as we obey the word in faith (Acts 10:44). As he is revived by the word, he is also revived in spirit.
Our human spirit is kindled with the Holy Spirit by the authority of God in the Word. It separates us from our natural thoughts and elevates us to a mind that has greater thoughts than our own.
Be baptized into the words of the author, not into the feelings of Adam. The Holy Spirit breathed the breath of life into man and inspired men to write the Word by baptizing them into the reviving power of God’s thoughts. People can create their own solutions, but the end result does not benefit them. A man’s mind must be reborn into a mind that is not his own. God’s thoughts produce habits, which always cause God’s character to be expressed in all His ways. The essence of God’s character, which is love, has enabled man to be eternally effective in the heavenly realms through perfect will.
