Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Philippians 2:3, John 13:1-7 on humility
- The attitude of thinking that others are best in humility through the mind of Christ is the attitude that brings the beginning of authority to that person. The extent to which I consider others better than myself is the extent to which I am considered in the right given by God. Many say so, but how many really take it? Many groups never get beyond their understanding of the letter of the rule of law which they derive from some literal expression of what it might be.
God wants us to pay attention to others, that is, to enter into what other people are going through and put ourselves in their shoes. The transaction is allowed to be analyzed and we actually take the person’s feelings and mind as he is within that investigation. You put yourself in his place and consider him better than you, to experience all the sorrows and heartaches of his situation. You don’t feel sad for that person. love you You don’t come out of that situation hurt, because he hurt you, or because he said something wrong, but you come as a salve that heals the wounds, wherever he was hurt. Taking care of others is a road to wonderful rights!
See, you are capable of experiencing and carrying another person’s burden in the presentation of God’s given love. With the humility of love, not one thing is against another person, but there is an opportunity for recognition, which is the essence of redemptive unity!
