Baptism in the Word
John 17:17
- Many people respond to God on impulse rather than by faith. We have natural impulses in our biological structure and when the word is preached, many people do not become substances from God, through the preached word because they respond by impulse.
For example, a promise is made for reconciliation in marriage. God’s love comes to you and you are given the definition to wait on God, as a must until God acts on the other side. You say you do, but you don’t stick to that plan. You hear the word by passion, and it does not reach the sanctification of baptism in your life. You did not become part of God’s substance by being born into your soul by that light.
Every time God speaks, He teaches and trains us, until we are baptized into His thoughts and become the substance of who He is. The word of God is like fire, and like a hammer that breaks rocks in pieces, (Jeremiah 23:29).
Recognize the power of the Word, and then receive it, as God reveals the substance of His character through revelation. Many people look for things to illustrate their power or intimacy with God. God’s power is imposed on the Word and unleashed by love, which has greater authority than death. Before and after Calvary, unconditional love remains the same, and through Calvary it has destroyed death as its last enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26).
