The Bread of Calamity Judges 14:14
- Men live in calamities, but they do not eat calamities. Calamity is not bread for them to eat. It disables them and does not build an ability. Had the Lord had his way, the calamity would have built a greater capacity to consume his life. But if the devil takes his course, he uses calamities to disable you, so that you cannot partake of the life of Christ.
In God’s lifestyle for believers, if you don’t eat, you have spiritual indigestion. Eating Christ gives the body order and a sufficient and satisfying supply. But if you don’t eat it, you will reap the consequences of your own logical system copied by Satan. We can drink the bitter water of a situation; But because the cross is working in our lives, that water becomes sweet. We can eat some difficulties, but in its expression it changes in us as patience.
People have all kinds of spiritual traps to present themselves with, but unless they feed on Christ, they will be lost in battle. At times people will eat anything, except Christ, because of what they think they need. But inadequacy always comes from a bad diet, and a sanctuary without an ark produces no results.
Whatever you are, may be in order, and whatever you may think, may be brought into practice, but without the ark there is no blessing.
As Saul went to worship at Gibeah, when the ark was not there; No matter how pious and well-intentioned, God would not bless, because the ark was missing! A person without an ark has no faith to eat disaster.
