Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Are you in your house in Golgotha?
Mark 4:34
- Wherever the Father sent Jesus, that was Jesus’ home. Whether it was in the company of those he loved or when he was abandoned by everyone at Calvary, Jesus was at home in God’s plan. The reason was that he knew the father in the plan. How many believers stray from the plan and forsake experiential fellowship with God to escape? All the natural forces of the situation that Adam perceives seem real to that person. Adam’s beliefs are rendered useless in the individual from the angle of faith, where all things reveal that our sufficiency and availability is God.
It does not seem practical to rest on faith even when the storm is raging, but faith has nothing to do with ordinary knowledge. Faith should be understood only in the light of the words, not in the natural sense of the relevant rules of ordinary meaning. The supernatural component of faith cancels out the natural component that goes along with Adam’s results.
Staying asleep is certainly not practical if your life is threatened by the storm, the boat is rocking, and the occupants are screaming. But Jesus is resting in faith and the situation does not touch his feelings. Many people react to their emotions and want to save their lives in the storm. But in Christ our lives are safe in rest, even through storms when we are at home with God.
While the disciples are struggling, God rests in His deliverance, because His redeemed will do the same if they refuse to be delivered from their feelings.
