Stole by Purpose
Matthew 6:19-21
- God has given us many beautiful things. These things are given to us to honor God, and we are able to use these things to be like Him, but the devil wants to rob us of the true purpose of God, with his imitative habits and angry behavior (John 10:10). Satan wants the things that God has given to be exalted above God so that God’s life is no longer devoted to it, which could be used to honor God. Satan wants these things to work in himself, to corrupt and hinder God’s true and holy purposes.
God gave marriage to be a servant but not to be a master. Many times, people get caught up in human love and then because of their insecurities, frustrations and problems, they do not own what they have been given to serve in Christ. God wants to use marriage to work grace in their hearts, work unconditional love in their hearts, work the cross in their lives, work the word of life in their hearts, bring health to their faces, and establish His plan in their purpose.
God wants to use marriage as a servant to work within God, thereby fulfilling all the purposes given by God. But what happens is, one or both members of the marriage refuse to be crucified, and the marriage ceases to exist. Jesus, a personal cross, and a personal relationship are in the power of the Spirit, but if hindered by natural marriage it will have its own consequences, which is stolen from God’s right and central purpose.
