Sanctification in the Word
Psalm 51:12; Hebrews 4:12
- The word either blows me away or holds me captive. It liberates me or brings relationships to my moral conscience, as this pressure is exhilarating. Faith sets me free, as it mingles with the Word. But without faith, the word commits my moral conscience without redeeming life from the word itself. It strikes me with guilt, without experiencing, practicing, the righteousness that would have given me more provision. Either the Word blesses and edifies, or some form of relationship closes, because it is always faithful to reveal the truth. It burns sin, or it convinces sin. How I deal with God’s Word reveals how God’s Word deals with my moral conscience, (John 1:9).
Moral conscience has nothing to do with salvation. If it is not extinguished it may bring me to the Creator, but it is not a substitute for redemption. It may lead you to the truth, but it has no saving qualities in itself. Only through the word of God are we redeemed and our souls set free in life, instead of being bound by the desires of our own souls. It is very important to be revived daily by the Word, so that your soul and spirit can function according to God’s order. We eat manna daily and have constant fellowship with God, so that the Word may enlighten our thoughts, reveal life or death, and separate life from spirit, so that we may not live in our flesh. The Word fills our minds with thoughts of Him who are eternally steadfast.
