What is the Biblical Definition of “Being Blessed”?

Being “blessed” is being forgiven of all sins through the blood of Christ and inheriting the new Heavens and new Earth

Rom 4:7-8 “Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

Blessed are the poor in spirit. God delights in Mercy and a broken and contrite heart God will not despise.

Matt 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Psa 34:18 “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

Blessed are they that mourn. Godly mourning over sins works repentance and is work of Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Matt 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”

Psa 38:18 “For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.”

Blessed are the meek. Meek after the pattern of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will inherit new heavens and new earth.

Matt 5:5 “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
1 Pet 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness. Our hunger and thirst after God’s Righteousness are quenched with living bread and living water, the Word of God.

Matt 5:6 “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

John 6:33-35 “For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”

Phil 3:9 “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”

Blessed are the merciful. God is merciful to us while we were yet sinners and expects the same from us. We show Mercy by forgiving the ones who has done wrong to us and also by proclaiming the Gospel of Grace to them so that they too might find Mercy from God.

Matt 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
Rom 4:7-8 “Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

Matt 6:12 “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”

Blessed are the pure in heart. Our heart is desperately wicked and only God can replace our stony heart with heart of flesh so that we might be fruitful when the Word of God is sown.

Matt 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Matt 15:19 “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”

Eze 36:26 “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”

Blessed are the peacemakers. Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace has reconciled us to God. We proclaim this Gospel of Grace so that our neighbor might be reconciled to God too. This is how we love our neighbor as ourselves.

Matt 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”

Col 1:20 “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”

2 Cor 5:18-19 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. Only if we suffer for Christ’s sake it is a blessing not if we suffer for our own wrong doings.

Matt 5:10 “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

1 Pet 4:12-16 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

For he that findeth me shall find life, and shall receive mercy from the Lord. But he that sinneth against me, harmeth his own soul; All those who hate me love death.’ Proverb. 8:35-36 But God shows his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 He committed no sin, nor was any guile found in his mouth; He did not rebuke in return; He did not threaten when he suffered, but committed himself to the righteous judge. He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the cross, that we might die to sins and live to righteousness; By His stripes you were healed. 1 st. Proverb. 8:35-36 Nor is salvation in any other; For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 Jesus said to him: “I am the way, the truth, and the life; No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 Behold, he comes with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, even those who despise him; And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him. So be it! Amen! Revelation 1:7 And he was clothed in blood; And his name is called ‘Word of God’. Revelation 19:13 “And behold, I come quickly; And I have my reward to give to every man according to his work. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Revelation 22:12-13 Note: Today people don’t even have time to go to heaven. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will receive forgiveness of sins, salvation and eternal life.
