David wrote many hymns, words of praise and devotion. David’s time was full of trouble and turmoil. David was constantly under attack of some kind. When we are under pressure we have to rely on what we already know because learning under pressure is much more difficult than learning in a relaxed environment.
David learned while resting in the pasture with the sheep.
Now we have Solomon whose reign was prosperous and relatively peaceful. David had put all the enemies in their place and earned their respect and fear by giving Solomon a reign of peace. Solomon focuses on the words of instruction.
The name David means brave, dear, loved.
The name Solomon means peace or peaceful.
The subject of the book of Proverbs is instruction.
Therefore this book begins with the subject of guidance, which brings peace into one’s life, because we love God who reigns over all things.
Christ’s victory on the cross established Hs title, King of kings. That victory set aside the angelic conflict and opened an era of peace. Peace in the sense that we now have a complete doctrine of the Scriptures and the longest dispensation to fully learn Bible doctrine. We have the first opportunity to learn the full scope of God’s Word and plan.
Israel is God’s nation. This includes all believers in Christ. This includes all believers in the promised Messiah or Savior, who is Jesus Christ. Therefore from the time of Adam until now, and until the end of human history, all people who believe or have faith in the Savior Jesus Christ belong to the nation of God.
In Psalm 138:2, we are told that God has exalted His word above His name. And the reason is that the word of God is of greater importance than the name of God, because it is the only means of our learning of God, and access to God.
Therefore, in order to have a successful relationship with God, you must learn the principles of the Bible.
Learning Bible principles requires daily study from instruction. Bible doctrine is not something you can learn on your own and gain the full spectrum of knowledge and understanding and wisdom that it contains.
If you don’t accept instruction, you don’t learn.
If you don’t learn, you won’t understand.
If you don’t understand, you don’t have wisdom.
Without doctrine, learned from instruction, the only thing you will have is a pretended and fake spiritual life, which is an empty spiritual life.
