Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
A desire for others
Hebrews 9:16
- God wants us to experience the inheritance given to us by the will that was broken by blood on Calvary. God has willed us and for us, and as God breaks this will we experience it and give it to His people. In order to be with a person, the one who gives the wish, must die. At his death, his will is not left in death, but it is given to those who live.
The will of Christ does not mean much to many who live in death. No one in death has been physically blessed by His will. People who are dead in concepts never rejoice in God’s will. God’s will is given for the living. In both the Old Testament and the New Testament, the Holy Spirit has revealed the practicality of this blood. The blood of the old covenant sanctified people only by purifying the body. The blood of the new covenant sanctifies the inner conscience from dead works to do the work of the living God, that too by revealed will. In the Old Testament, blood was counted, but people were not aware of it. In the New Testament, they still live without awareness of what it means to be. They never enter into the freedom of a conscience cleansed of dead works.
Living in spiritual death means that either they are frustrated in their efforts to do good deeds, or they do not try at all because they are at the end of their self-imprisoned bonds. Blood has no more meaning to them than it did in the Old Testament.
