An invisible corner stone
1 Peter 2:4-10
- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and his people. “The other group freely admits that their lives, their philosophies, everything they have or every hope and foundation to build on; That corner stone which is invisible! What sets us apart is not so much that we build this cornerstone, but that we acknowledge its presence in our lives and prove its reality in the strong structure of our temple.
The world lives by faith, but it never admits it. Humans have faith in every little natural law and orderly process, and yet they do not understand the foundation of the world in which they believe. What is bigger than the universe? Why do birds fly south in winter? They can only offer vague guesses, but we are a special chosen race, because we can explain the world logically. By faith we understand that by God’s word the worlds were made; Therefore, visible things are not made of visible things. By faith we abide in Him who did all this. “He is precious to you who believe” (1 Peter 2:7).
Either our life becomes a foundation upon which others can build, or it can become a stumbling block for them. We are special people; May we see the praise of the One who has brought us out of darkness and called us into His wonderful light. - Today’s reading passage is Genesis 30-32
