Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion.
Husbands, love like this.
Ephesians 5:23-32
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church.” Has Christ been captured or manipulated by the church? God’s love cannot be captured. Christ died for us while we were still sinners and did more by his love than he could have done if he had been or ever could have been in a love, a love that could have been captured by the response and participation of the church in the body.
If our life is dead and we are hid with Christ in God, no one can hold or seize us, we have freedom in the Spirit of God. We may be considered prisoners by some, but we see no prison walls, only those who declare us to be prisoners of the Lord Jesus Christ, (2 Timothy 1:18). It is such a bond that gives us perfect freedom. We are prisoners-servants. This proposal is the best love that can be offered. If we are possessed by another, we have not loved as Christ loved the church. This kind of love transcends theology and self-life and is a new kind of unity.
Many people try to hold other people’s bodies because of fear. Whether it is within marriage or in the church, we must live as a package of love, which purifies, serves, and loves constantly without trying to hold on to the flesh of Adam and without insecurities in its fears and habits with a particular pattern. As Christ exemplified, as our example, and as He taught, we love beyond measure. We are not swayed by murmurs, reactions, or differences, but instead we love, just as Christ loved the church.
