Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Jesus is found in a company
Song of Solomon 3:1
Live in faith for your present life. The important thing is not what you know about God, but who God is now in the exercise of faith. It involves faith, which receives Christ, which comes from fellowship and which produces the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). It is not the arrangement of circumstances for ourselves where we find peace. Circumstances are not always in our favor. God may have hidden his intentions. If we don’t see God working on the outside and don’t feel the peace of air on the inside, are we abandoned or are we the object of unconditional love?
We have to rely on God’s unchanging character, as it is presented in His Word. At times God may withdraw, but this is only to teach us to draw closer. A person who is one in Christ will never lose his protection even if all circumstances hide him. What we know about God today cannot be based on tomorrow’s experiences and their consequences.
He is the living God who wants to be our unassailable security. Our strength lies not in what we know and where we are, but in who we are hidden as we walk the paths of life. Our lives present many options, but these options are unlikely to give us eternal security, since they are only momentarily held and experienced only on a momentary basis. We may have positions, notions, or possessions, and yet a single circumstance may remove them all. What is left out? Fellowship with God who is our security, when all else is removed.
