Matthew 6:25 – How can we be free from worry?
“Therefore I tell you, ‘Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.’” (Matthew 6:25, NRSV)
Jesus Christ clearly said that we should not worry about food, clothing, or tomorrow. Worrying neither enhances our life nor solves problems. So, what can we do to be free from worry?
Here are 10 practical ways that can help us overcome anxiety.
1. Have complete faith in God.
Anxiety arises when we feel uncertain about the future. But we must understand that our lives are in God’s hands.
The Bible says:
” Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not on your own understanding. ” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
How to do it?
- Reading God’s words and growing in faith.
- Trust that God wants the best for us in every situation.
2. Give your worries to God through prayer.
We should pray rather than worry.
The Bible says:
” Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. ” (Philippians 4:6-7)

- Practice focusing on the present.
- Doing the good things we can today.
4. Have a mindset of gratitude
When we give thanks, peace replaces worry.

How to do it?
- Study the Bible regularly.
- Remember verses that bring peace when you are worried.
