Part 3.Now faith is the
[a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen.
for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11:11By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she[d] bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
11:12Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
11:13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off [e]were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
11:14For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.11:15And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.11:16But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
11:17By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son
11:18[f]of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,”
11:19concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.
11:20By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

Psalms 30:1-12 (KJV) I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
