Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Provisional Point
John 6:48
- Jesus did not say, “I give you bread,” or “I tell you to seek bread;” “I am the bread.” If you look for bread, you probably won’t find him. You may be deceived in your search. But instead, seek Him and you will have the bread of life, and you will not have to seek.
The fathers searched for bread in the wilderness and they died. How many people are looking for what they think they need? And yet God never asked them to search for those things. If we are always searching, in reality we will miss the point of arrangement. We will always be in need, never experiencing that fulfillment; which is within Christ.
How many desires would people have if they followed Christ wholeheartedly, which would affect every part of their being? God may give them a need, but He always gives the fulfillment in Himself. Then the need fulfilled or unfulfilled always comes second in this situation, God looks at the heart, and His work is done there, before His will comes in external blessings!
Some people cannot handle external blessings, because they have no humility in their hearts. Therefore, the judgment of external success or blessings is never a problem. How would we have viewed the apostle Paul and his spiritual condition if we had known that he had been imprisoned more times than we could count? Lack of opportunities and success in perfect circumstances never shows lack of God.
