Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion.
Speaking the Truth in Love
Ephesians 4:15
We can say many things that sound like the truth but really aren’t. This is simply not true because some statements contain official facts and facts but may not be true, especially when it relates to the Word of God. The greatest thing about God can be found in 1 John 4:8, “God is love.” Everything he says comes from his own character. Love is not a feeling; Love is a person. Nor is truth itself an understanding: it is a person. When what I say does not spread the personality of God, which is love, then what I say ceases to be true.
When we are challenged, we are quick to stand up for the truth. Many times when that happens, what we stand for is not about insecurity and self-defense, but about truth. Jesus Christ stood for the truth, when He allowed the angry mob to crucify Him and spoke of His own life character, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Believers are very quick to be on top of each other’s education. Although they prove they are right, they end up being wrong because of lack of love. Without God’s character and essence there is no truth, and God is love.
In Ephesians 4:14-15, Paul instructs us to reject deception. That means, “Don’t be like a child”. Children of the Spirit raise such questions, by which many are hindered and confused. Spiritually mature people are like this, “in all things they grow up in him, who is the head, that head is Christ.”
