The Book of 3 Jo NJ hi I’m ⁷9-10 1 John 3:
1 Look, stop, and see – Look at the love we have receivbyu९५ed – What a glorious and immeasurable love. There is no human language sufficient to describe God’s love – It cannot be clearly and completely explained. Loving us – It is God’s free choice – In which, for our good, God freely gave Himself for us, when we did not deserve it. – Deuteronomy 7:7-8 The wonderful thing – A sinner is called a child of God – By God’s foreknowledge. Beloved – We have received. Selfless – Ongoing love – Continuous (giving love) God continues to give, no matter how unloving we may be. Love is His nature. The object of love does not determine the nature of this love, but only the giver or God. Look back at Calvary’s cross – how much you have been loved – if you doubt God’s love even after looking at Calvary’s cross – you are insulting God’s love. Romans 8:35-39 Death, suffering, tribulation, – nothing can separate us – from God’s love – this is the truth of Scripture – we are children of God. Mch. 95 things of the Bible – every point we need to know and preach – what is our truth of Scripture in God – then only can we enjoy joy, peace, Christian freedom. Verse 2 We will be like Him . Heaven is attractive to us – because there we will not only see the face of our Lord but we will be like Him. Perfectly holy – righteous Pure ability – to worship the glory of God – we are completely satisfied, happy, in power, for this. Those who are united with Christ – manifest righteousness, know they are loved by God in a great way and are becoming more and more like Christ daily. 2 Corinthians 3:18 To live in holiness – desire. No matter what life throws at them, trials, problems, etc., there is hope, to be like Christ. Verse 3 We all have hope. Christ, the faithful life Those who have their hope in Him – their faithful life is different from the world’s. When we fix our hope on Him – we grow in our desire to be like Him – Galatians 2:20 Walking like Christ. When we – let the Holy Spirit work – obey Christ’s commandments and His Word – only then can we – live in purity – the work of sanctification.
Encourages a Christ-like life Thinking about heaven – the golden streets there – more than a city of precious stone walls – is the desire of the believer – Christ – and we will be like Him – if we live on that basis here – to live a holy life, a righteous life – to live as children of God – to live in purification day by day This hope motivates us to live away from sin – to live a life that is separate from sin – encourages us.
Verses 4-10 The sign of the Son
The active voice in these verses is in the present tense.
The present tense in Greek denotes continuous action – the act of continuing to engage in sinful behavior – to be in the present tense.
The believer may sin at times – Romans 7:14-25 at times more willingly – to sin intentionally but – cannot continue to sin habitually – as Satan does not always do.
Romans 6:4-14, Galatians 5:24, Ephesians 2:10
A sinner is saved – renewed by the Holy Spirit, Ezekiel 36:26-27 has a new nature – 2 Corinthians 5:17 has a desire to obey the Word, follow Christ, reject the temptations of the world and show the fruits of righteousness – Philippians 3:9
Verse 4 The law is only a constant rebellion against God, but the believer does not habitually rebel against God’s law.
Reason – The believer has a desire to love God and be devoted to Him.
Verse 5 He not only came – by paying the price of sin – to forgive sin but – to put sin away – forever – through the work of the cross.
Sanctification now takes place in our lives – deliverance from the invitation of sin – sanctification is daily – He cuts away that which leads away from God.
Just as – when we cut carrots – we cut off the bad ones and throw them away – the good ones are gathered into the pile.
Verses 6-9
Verse 6 – He who abides in Him – does not sin habitually – does not live continuously.
Verse 8 He who habitually sins is of the devil.
Y Unrenewed heart – heart of stone – Ezekiel 36:26
Child of the devil John 8:44 – acts like the devil.
Verse 9 Born of God does not sin habitually – acts and lives like the devil
Why can’t we believers sin habitually?
Because we have the seed of God – we are born of another seed.
Mch. Ktbkhavhal le – the seed has made us alive again.
You have a new life.
Verse 9 – Seed quvchabm – the seed of God God’s nature God’s character or attribute – who He is.
Y The seed that is planted in us – the new nature
Now we have the new birth – (once again – we are born twice)
Y Born into His nature and – His nature can never sin.
When I sin, it is from the old sin nature but not from the nature of God.
Romans 7:2 There is always a battle of nature.
Now we – in the new nature we grow in holiness daily.
Grow in grace.
We grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
We know that it works in our lives in a literal way.
Practically by the power of the Spirit.
It is not by our own efforts and ability but 2 Corinthians 3:18 – we are changed from one glory to another.
Can you continue to practice sin as a child of God?
What happens if you do?
You are disciplined – the stages of discipline – first you convince.
The pulpit, through the Word of God, the pastor.
Some problems
Difficult problems
Death – welcoming you home.
You become miserable – no joy, no peace, no victory.
Fellowship is broken – you lose the joy, freedom of the Christian life.
You may feel insecure at first.
But by simple acceptance – we can be restored – 1 John 1:8-9
John is referring to these things – Gnosticism – who said that.
The things of the flesh – do not affect the spirit and now it is the same as how we live. – អានក
John is not saying that you (Gnosticism) are wrong – it is not because believers have a new nature.
A new life
A new style.
And those who are born of the new nature – the fruit of their life is righteousness – but if someone continues to sin – then –
We do not know the outcome
If there is someone, judge.
Let us pray for them.
God does what is right.
We are not God and our knowledge is very limited.
Verse 8 God appeared.
To destroy the works of Satan and to take away our sins John 12:31 Hebrews 2:14
If a person sins.
God does what is right if he is a believer.
If you are an unbeliever, there may be nothing (chastisement) but if there is, it may be for salvation.
Sin is incompatible with the believer’s position in Christ.
A believer cannot continue to practice sin unless he has come to the knowledge of salvation in Christ.
You Gnostics have never come to the knowledge of the truth.
That is why you practice sin.
Grades 11-12
Verses 11-24
God did not just say to those who are in Christ – love one another.
Romans 12:10, John 15:12
But He has also given us the ability to do it, Romans 5:5 (Love is poured into our hearts, through the Holy Spirit.
Children of God – identified by love – birth is marked by love.
Children of Satan – marked by murder, marked by sin.
Verses 12-14 Murder is the ultimate point of hatred – lack of love
Numbers 35:20-21, Matthew 5:21-22
Was from the evil one – from the kingdom of darkness John 8:44
All – quarrelsome, aggressive, extremely evil – who actively oppose the goodness of God – 1 Peter 5:8
Killed his brother – violent murder – Cain showed by his actions that he was evil – by killing his brother because of a false belief and a rejection of the righteousness of God.
Verses 13,15 – John 15:18-19,23-25 The world hates.
Verse 15 No murderer has eternal life in Christ.
This does not mean that no believer will ever murder.
When a murderer believes – he is not saved.
But constantly – filled with hatred
Having the mind of a murderer
Unrenewable vulgar hatred Ezekiel 15:25 Showing the fruit of the heart – An unsaved person does not have eternal life.
Verse 20 – Conscience
Romans 2:14-15 Every person has the ability to discern between right and wrong (some degree of morality).
Every believer – born again – has the discipline (will) to obey God’s Word.
When a believer obeys God’s Word – the conscience tells him that he is doing right – Romans 9:1
It gives him joy and godly courage – 2 Corinthians 1:12
Likewise, when he sins – it tells him that he is doing wrong – and the conscience makes him feel afraid, discouraged, and insecure – John 8:9, Psalm 32:3-4, and the believer begins – to question – Am I not saved?
Doubts eternal security?
Unless – the question of conscience is settled by scriptural truth.
God will not give eternal security if a believer is living in sin.
Conscience is – not a system of morality that can be relied upon by itself.
It works on the basis of what human knowledge and faith communicate.
If the conscience – is not guided by the principles of spirituality and pure (true teaching) theology – it is like detonating an Islamic bomb and committing suicide.
Because his conscience convinces him that you are doing the work of Allah. The conscience is transmitted from wrong knowledge, faith and sources.
Therefore, every Christian needs to know the true teaching – to rejoice in God – to transmit the right message to the conscience. The conscience
knows all our mistakes and keeps accusing us, first after salvation.
Our evil conscience has been cleansed – Hebrews 10:19-22 so that now – the conscience stops accusing us – because of the wrong actions.
Now
from fear –
from anxiety to joy –
from despair to peace – we are moved to hope – we experience a purified conscience.
Now here
John knows that – some believers at that time are afraid because of their past sins – because of wrong information in their conscience – because of thinking outside the scriptural.
They are having a hard time accepting God’s forgiveness – because of feeling guilty.
John writes to encourage these believers – you – know real change
know biblical truth.
so that you may have the courage to go before your loving Father.
Romans 8:1 – There is no condemnation.
Romans 8:31-39 Nothing can separate you from His love.
Verses 21-22 Doubt is removed – when the believer lives in obedience and faithfulness – we go before our loving Father in heaven with courage without fear.
Obedient – being committed to pursuing what pleases God. John 8:29
