Jayamsih! Welcome to today’s devotion.
An order of living
1 Peter 2:1
- Once we receive God’s love, we are in his order. Because we first went to Calvary and accepted the order of co-crucifixion. Then we leave everything that God has ordained us to be. It goes far beyond ‘Christ died for your sins’. We must enter into co-crucifixion and co-death, where all orders made outside of God are brought into order. So that God’s steadfastness will take root in us eternally.
People fail to realize that they must cooperate with God, that in truth their hearts must first be devoted to Calvary. Many serve God, but never cooperate with God. People separate themselves from God’s service to establish their own service. They want to find a place of safety, where they can feel their religious practice, instead of experiencing the spiritual through the word under the umbrella of the practice of the body.
First is Calvary, then Pentecost. People who express emotional manifestations outside of Calvary end up in the consequences of their emotions, and their lives bring despair because there is no resurrection. Jesus Christ first went to Calvary and as we follow in his footsteps, we pass from death to his death by faith. The result is ascension in the baptismal power of the Holy Spirit, in cooperation with the life of the flesh.
Together with the life of Christ, the leading of the Spirit brings us into the administration of love, into a body, into a life, which appoints us to bear fruit.
