Welcome to today’s devotion.
Owe no one anything but love
1 Corinthians 13; Romans 13:8-9
When love, a champion (conqueror), entered the stage of human presentation on earth, he taught us the true meaning of life. Today, too many people are obsessed with their debts, and they run around trying to find the right money to pay off those debts. Then, there are others who are in the lending position. They run hither and thither, gathering what is theirs. Many churches make the law their standard, and if a person breaks the law he is told how to pay that debt. If you feel that you are indebted to someone, or that someone is indebted to you, remember, do not owe anyone anything other than loving one another.
Christ came into the world and was rejected. Instead of enthroning him, the people crucified him. He did not write and cut a bill, but He said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” We owe everything to Him, because He paid the debt of our sins with His blood. He did not expect anything in return. Don’t go around today thinking that someone has borrowed something from you, trying to get back what you deserve – recognition, position, gratitude. Don’t keep a mental tally of who owes you what or who you owe something to. All accounts are thrown out of Calvary’s window, when the perfect sinless One paid for all sin. How can we make all things fair and square, when Calvary’s concept of justice is giving everyone what they don’t deserve by grace? Allow Christ to redeem who you are,so that love can pay the debt.
