Welcome to today’s devotion.
The man outside the camp
- Exodus 33:7; Hebrews 13:13; Ephesians 1:17-18
Most of the Christian faith world is weak and powerless, because it has not received the light of a cooperative body from God. Because of the price paid on the cross of Christ, many people choose to live in their natural human existence. They have a mental concept of what it means to be a member of the body of Christ, but they lack the power of a new man, who is the only spiritual man on earth. We are members of a spiritual man, or we are a natural man.
You cannot gain an understanding of the corporate body by much study because it requires a revelation of the Holy Spirit to reveal the riches of His heir’s glory to the saints.
Many people are so emotionally attached to the natural system of Christendom, that they refuse to bear His condemnation and go to the camp outside of Him. When they live within the fence of the camp, they never receive the light of Him who is outside. When Moses came down with the commandments, Israel was worshiping the golden calf, in response to this display of idolatry, Moses set up a tabernacle outside the camp of the people. Christ sees thousands worshiping some, that they can see or feel that God is crucified but not the cross. He has demonstrated against this idolatry. He has pitched his meeting tent outside, a new man of his, outside the camp. The only way in is through the cross.
