Lead Our Feet
- Jonah 13:14
Ruth laid herself at the feet of Boaz, (Ruth 3:7). Mary anointed the feet of Jesus (John 12:3). The disciples took hold of His feet and worshiped Him (Matthew 28:9). Because of his thorn-pierced feet, we are exalted. We have life from above because our feet are given. One gave a higher position, the other got lower power.
Ruth offered her body as a living sacrifice to be covered by the righteousness of her Redeemer. She looked forward to the intimacy of her personal rest with God. Before she walked in the morning light while the world could see her, Ruth first took direction from her Redeemer. From his vertical association, she gained strength in the walking steps of his third association. The prince of peace now led him. Boaz gave her six grains of corn, giving her the purpose of his words and power to Ruth, which speaks of God’s power of resurrection in human power. She rose, guarding the secret of his association until she appeared at the appointed time.
Our hands have been washed so that we no longer have to pay the labor price for our sins. We are enthroned, and that is to establish our steps in the way of God in certain discipleship. As we wait in submission, clinging to the feet of our Savior, He cleanses with purpose and power as He directs our walk. We are led to the feet of others, to anoint them with the glorious gospel so that they may walk through the storms of life.
