God Gives Increase
John 3:30
Jesus Christ is our source, and whatever we have received from Him, that is exactly what He wants us to have. We cannot receive more than He is willing to give. And yet, in the heart of every believer there is a desire, that in us He may grow faster and that we may decrease faster. It comes from growing up that God’s life increases within us and our selfish lives decrease. We cannot do or establish this overnight. This wisdom is not one that flows from discontent within, but rather it reveals the preordained contentment of God’s perfect plan for our lives.
We experience the purity of personal holiness in the joy and knowledge of the promises, which Christ is always increasing, and we are always decreasing. When the self becomes less involved, there is an opportunity to become more with Christ. A child of God is not naturally obedient.
We learn obedience through what we suffer. We are not afraid because we have not achieved certain achievements, which others have already achieved. As long as our behavior for God is to increase and decrease, we know that God will have His way in our lives. By faith, we can know that God’s plan is for Jesus Christ to work in every soul, soul, and bone of ours, so that the body may be cleansed. How we rejoice in His presence in our lives, and yet earnestly and consciously cry out to God, “Lord Jesus, You must grow. And, Lord, I must fall.
