Dwelling for God
Ephesians 2:22
- Today we face two great choices: we can choose to dwell in our weaknesses, our problems, or our personalities; Or we can allow our bodies to be the abode of Almighty God. The second choice allows us the opportunity to live beyond our natural response. It gives God an opportunity to reveal the offering of God’s life, His trust, and His character.
When we become His abode, then we find complete rest. A house does not struggle to make its occupants comfortable; It just stays grounded, and allows life to be produced within. It does not worry about maintenance, but it knows that the maintainer cares about it.
God does more than make time His own; He makes the plan of time his own. Isaiah 57:15 says; Eternal dwells in God. If eternity dwells in God, why not let Him dwell in you?
Now, just as the lights above the earth dim, just as the sun sets in a moment of time, just as history rises with darkness and throughout its time the possibility of this darkness from which it also originates, judgment comes upon the nation, because what it sows, it reaps. As her Babylonian confusion is compounded, and the sin of the earth is compounded by the re-examination and exposure, we cannot choose to be passive or selfish, but become a habitation for God.
