Getting Married
2 Timothy 1:7
- Two people who are in love do not even feel the love because they know it in their hearts. God gives love first in their hearts. The first concept of love is not “feeling”, because its foundation is the heart, (2 Timothy 1:7). We know we are in love because the heart of Christ has given us love for that person within God’s plan. Then it enters the emotions under the control of the mind, so there is no envy, jealousy, worry, or despair, because it is rooted in divine mediation.
Beyond this, they are living in chaos. Within this love, through God’s order, we have the nature of divine love. In 1 Corinthians 13, we never read about the feelings of the believer, because of God’s nature, which is love; First it is rooted in the heart, and then its effects are joy, peace, patience, meekness, faith, and all the fruits of God in the heart of man, (Galatians 5:22). How great it is to be in His love, to have the patience to wait on God’s timing, as we are transformed by the renewed mind that sustains us from moment to moment.
How often do we experience the devil’s plan to imitate the fellowship of divine love with relationships, wanderings, visions, emotional impulses, excitements, which can never wait for the demands of the experience in time. Instead of God’s program of divine intercession and response, we now see very clearly Satan’s program of substitutionary action. Come, let us wait on God by living dynamically in his mind.
