Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Triumphant with the Overcomer Song of song 6:5
- Christ has overcome with the beauty of His bride, as He sees her in the holiness of the finished work. No longer separated by the veil of that body, He has appeared with her, as she stands unspotted. They find no end anywhere, but only in the perfection of true beauty. Consciousness comes when the bride is able to respond to the perfect love of her Lord. The veil is now torn (Matthew 27:51), and the believer begins to overcome Christ, because through Christ he has overcome as much as he was in Adam. The bride is as beautiful as an army marching with flags (Song of Songs 6:10). She stands in solemn determination and declaration of her one victory in Christ through the finished work. She declares victory among the armies in every field.
- The bride can now remove her eyes. She does not need to look into his eyes, because she is looking through his eyes. They are His body, His flesh, His bones (Ephesians 5:30). She has become one spirit with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17). They are his own (Ephesians 2:15). He is his head, she is his body. My body cannot look into my eyes, but my eyes can look into my body. He no longer needs to look into his eyes, because he is the body that leads his eyes to others.
- Accomplished work has given him a vision of faith. Her eyes are removed at last, so that she has lifted up her eyes to the fields, which are always ripe and white and ready to reap, (John 4:35).
