Jayamsih! Welcome to today’s devotion.
Reigning over self-sufficiency
2 Corinthians 3:5
- Are we satisfied with the sufficiency of grace? Or do we allow things to happen instead of taking the path of self-satisfaction?
Self-sufficiency is never enough, because it confines itself to the lusts of its own flesh. Because Adam is unable to believe that what he thinks is enough, he is constantly searching for satisfaction. It never leads to the search for someone, but to the struggle to find something, which gives Adam an excuse to live beyond the plan. The plan always brings us to the urgent need for grace. God does not elevate us to depend on our needs. As we grow, we grow into Him, giving up our freedoms and increasing His need in our lives.
There are many ways to show grace to God. Many times people do not like the ways of God’s grace that is poured out on them. Rather than being changed, they want circumstances to be changed by grace. Instead of changing themselves for someone else, they want someone changed by grace. Instead of accepting ‘God’s eye that intervenes in the situation’, they grow weary of reigning in their own sufficiency. It is through belief or disbelief that we determine what actually controls our lives. God controls only by making life flow smoothly through planning. Spirit control keeps us on track, so we can be free from the controlling forces of hell.
