Jayamsih! Welcome to today’s devotion.
The Measure of Faith
2 Corinthians 5:7
- Truth; It does not rely on my moments of weakness to appreciate its reality. Truth lies in Jesus Christ. Something very unique happens in the life of a Christian who walks by faith. The opportunity that faith offers him is the opportunity to find Jesus Christ. He can rely on these words of truth. The state of his weakness is now measured in terms of faith, not in the evaluation of the reality of his words.
Why should we challenge the truth through self-knowledge? Having self-knowledge with the knowledge of the truth, and the experience of the truth that gives us the knowledge of love for God are very different things. When we experience the emptiness of self-knowledge, and the results of all the guises of devotion but lack of power, then it is not a time to retreat and challenge the love of truth, but it is a time to draw closer because of the truth. Why challenge the truth with something that is temporary? Whereas we can easily be devoted to the truth, recognize Satan as a liar, and declare ourselves eternally free. Instead of trying to understand faith, we live by faith through God’s understanding.
All the safeguards of Jesus Christ were taken, so that he would reveal the light by being devoted to the truth. He took away his right to live as God, so that his dependence would be on God. At the moment of his examination he did not challenge the truth, but said; “Father forgive them, they know not what they do.”
