Take My yoke (Matthew 11:29-30)
- All who want to be known as disciples of the Lord have a yoke that they must take up. This is the yoke of humility that Christ himself bore upon himself. Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing by himself” (John 5:19). He put aside every claim to be great and surrendered to the Father in all things. He said, “For I am humble and humble in heart” (Matthew 11:29). If Jesus had acted apart from his Father, his actions, though perfect, would have been less than perfect. Although he had authority, he taught this because he knew how to humbly submit to the Father (surrender authority) and be lowly in heart (humility of being lifted up).
Christ’s only demand is that we take His yoke upon us. “I am the vine; You are really a branch. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5). Discipleship is part of the voluntary surrender of both our abilities and our disabilities. “My yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). The Lord assures us that He is the doer and perfecter of our faith and will complete the good work He has begun in us. Our only responsibility is to take it. A true disciple is one who allows Christ to be all-sufficient and never seeks an end to his provisions. When we are committed to Christ, His trustworthiness is the only factor upon which our success depends. We surrender our rights over our lives to the Lord and trust that His heart is greater than our own. - Today’s reading passage is Genesis 47-50

All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
