This concept is found in both the Old and New Testaments. It is the identity card of those who belong to God. Just as a citizenship certificate in a kingdom shows who is a member of that kingdom, the book of life proves who has a right to the eternal kingdom (heaven).

Psalm 69:28 – “Let their names be blotted out of the book of life.”

2. Whose name is written?
