Father’s Grace
2 Corinthians 1:3
- The Father always gives us the best and the highest. He does not keep it to Himself because we are unworthy. Even when we are at our worst, He still gives to us. Abraham gave it to Isaac. The best thing about him was Isaac. The father gave love to the prodigal son. He gave his best. He did not want to give the prodigal son rules and authority over him. Instead of revealing the nature of justice through the law, the father’s heart was to show love.
Now that grace rejoices over justice, the heart of the Father is expressed to us with care. Justice says, “My nature is always perfect. I can recognize sin and never look at it. Man must be damned and die for his sin; That is righteous justice.” But the father has always been giving. He gave His Son and it revealed His mercy. His heart allows us to move away from a concept of letters to know Him and to live in the living presence of our fellowship.
When we respond, the Father accepts. When He gives, He accepts what we accept. A father’s heart accepts the joy of his own triumphant experience.
Indwelt by God, hidden in His body, enlightened with vision, directed to purpose, enlarged by life and increased by that love, which brings us deep and deep into the heart of God – and how can we experience all these things? How can we look forward to the future with great expectations? Because the grace of our Father’s heart will always follow us, ever extending grace so that our experience may be Christ.
