A Pleasing Sacrifice
Psalm 51:17; Romans 12:1
- Many people spend a good portion of their lives living by challenging God’s plan through emotional reactions or logical fallacies or arguments. God tests us through circumstances, which reveal whether the written and spoken word has conceived to produce a living word with faith in our lives. Often, he discovers that men desire to learn to obey by suffering (Hebrews 5:8), but instead God wants them to obey their fleshly commands. So that they don’t have to suffer. Hitting God’s predestined circumstances from their unbroken souls, they choose to live in rebellious conduct. Like a wild horse that does not yield itself to its rider, we offend the Spirit of God through our restless, proud Adamic nature. How we respond when the words we understand are tested by the circumstances of life, reveals how much the word has been fleshed out in our experience (John 1:14). It regulates how much others will see His glory.
Sacrifices to God are a broken spirit, and a broken and broken heart, the Holy Spirit who ministers to the same pushing of Christ within the heart of every born-again believer. As we surrender ourselves to Him, and are not trying to be humble, but simply allowing His humility to live through us, we do not meet situations with arguments or questions; We meet them with the grace of our perfect God. Our behavior is to enjoy every moment that happens to us, and it is because we live in eternal provision in His love. - Today’s reading passage: Jeremiah 33-36
