Jayamsih! Welcome to today’s devotion.
Being stronger than Satan at your weakest point
2 Corinthians 12:9
- When we are tested in a situation, do we live by the dictates of the atmosphere or by the quickened word of the Holy Spirit ‘that proceeds from the mouth of God’? Jesus Christ was not forced to fight when tempted by Satan (Matthew 4). He was sensitive to that voice which had already announced its victory over the ruler of this world. Even Jesus did not enter the war, because the ruler of this world had nothing to do with him. Satan does not get any sense of familiarity from Christ, because Christ is known only to his Father.
Christ gave only the things of God to Satan against his tempting offer. Christ did not live in His own purposes and powers, but in the Father’s protective victory. We do not have to keep our victory, because it is kept from an eternal unchangeable faith that works by love. The purpose, plan, purpose and power of the Father is the object of Christ. Christ never debated how to deal with Satan. He did not go through criticism to find out where he stood in relation to the trials.
As a son, Jesus walked under the guidance of his father. He put aside his divinity and lived in his humanity to experience trust in the Father’s life. He thought about his father’s words and mentioned his father’s thoughts. He communicated the words spoken by the Father and the words always produced things. He presented Satan with the object of God’s power. Even the weakest point of Christ’s humanity was stronger than the strongest state of Satan, because of the object of that word!
