Jayamsih! Welcome to today’s devotion.
Going further in love.
- Philippians 3:10
Paul rejoiced in discovering what all-sufficient grace could do. He begged the Lord thrice to remove the thorn from his body. At his third prayer, God spoke; “My grace is sufficient. Paul, that thorn will never be removed. You will draw your strength from me and Christ will be formed in you. You will be molded and molded in the form of humility and giving. You will know my sufferings and you will know the nature of my trust in my Father, when you trust in me, you will know this by the Spirit. Whenever you think I can’t do it, there will be a mysterious comfort, an encouraging fellowship, an assurance from the Word, and a unity in grace. I want you to have a strength that will not let you go even when you fail.”
Paul rejoiced to learn what all-sufficient love can do (2 Corinthians 12:10). He learned what it means to live with thorns, but he lived a life of grace. You can love because grace is sufficient. The other person’s reaction does not necessarily drive your offer. You go far in love, where they stop because of their nature, ignorance or rebellion. Their immaturity does not change the maturity of love, the steadfastness of grace, and the character of God’s power.
Trials may not come, but as you live in them, there is definition and clarity of purpose because your experience with Christ is one with grace.
