1. Appearance doesn’t matter.
The condition of the heart is more important to God than the outward appearance. In 1 Samuel 16:7, God tells Samuel, “People look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.” This reminds us that, although we may value outward appearance from a social perspective, it is the purity of the heart and faith that is most important to God.
2. Beaded clothes
God values inner qualities like peace of heart and humility, rather than external adornment. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says, “Do not let your adornment be that which is outward…but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great value in the sight of God.”
3. The importance of good deeds
The Scriptures tell us that we should adorn ourselves with good works. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, “You should adorn yourselves in modest apparel, as is proper for women professing godliness.” This shows that our outward appearance, along with our outward appearance, is the true evidence of our faith in good works.
4. Renounce love for the world.
According to the Bible, we should focus on love and devotion to God rather than on the luxuries of the world and earthly clothes. 1 John 2:14-15 says, “If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
5. Decorate with love
Colossians 3:12-14 says, “As God’s chosen people, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Put on all these qualities in love, for the perfect unity of all things.” These are the holy qualities that please God.
Squeeze
Therefore, based on the teachings of the Bible, God is more interested in the condition of our hearts and faith than in what we wear. When it comes to the church, purity of heart and faith are more important than our outward appearance. Therefore, the clothing we wear should not discriminate against others and should reflect our inner faith.
