Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
The old economy is fuming
Hebrews 9:14
- What is prudence? What makes people wallow in dead works instead of serving the living God with life? Conscience is an indicator of right and wrong, that’s why you do something to stop others. But when the conscience is overshadowed by heredity and religion, then the conscience is no longer certain of its own yardsticks. It can still hold on to the power God has given it, and through grace it can go, when it has been quenched by other forces.
So a person comes to church. But in this church he finds no light, no meeting of grace, no revelation of grace. Discernment may be of the religious type and perhaps good, but it is through the letters of such a system, which is the tree that separates the knowledge of good and bad. There is no meeting of grace or mercy but only discernment from God’s law. The people under this rule only attain the conscience according to the law. They are integral to the religious system, but are not resurrected. A law of God from the Bible takes the place of grace, and Moses becomes a substitute for Christ (John 1:17). Conscience leans toward Moses, and we can live as well as we can but not as he did. And people live in such a conscience that they are taught by lineage, environment and religion. Instead of the light of love and grace, they let their conscience guide them.
Do not let good and bad be your sign, which nullifies the word of God, which is always the covenant of truth in the conscience of the congregation.
