Joined to a Right
1 Corinthians 6:17
- We cannot understand it, but we are joined to the Lord of power, who has set us upon the blessing of his right. He accomplished this, and we can experience it by letting grace buy our lives. We can meet Christ in the sense of His promises, we can work through Him in the sense of power, and we can live in Him in the sense of an unconditional love that frees us from all conditions. We are no longer the outer man who tries to impose upon himself the standards of religion, but we are new creatures, the inner man has become new to express grace as the root of all the action of our lives. .
The kingdom is not only in words, but in power. If it is only a word, we claim to go to heaven and also go to hell. We accept forgiveness and live with regret. We accept grace, but will still be under the law. If the kingdom were only a word, our confession would never bring salvation, because we would judge the power of life that God has instituted to be useless.
More than can be expressed in a message, more than our ability to understand, more than anyone can paint, and more than our ability to communicate, is the mysterious language of faith. When we receive this wonderful power to lay hold of faith in Christ, we will immediately have a heart, soul, and body that will respond to all that God has said. We are not placed to utter the words that express our struggle to gain our flesh, but we speak the language of a power, whose very substance is connected with the Word, Christ.
