Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Who do we listen to?
John 12:3-8
- Let us imagine that Judas Iscariot obeyed simply because he was a man. Our response is not to be dictated by a person’s gender. It is possible that people may believe that a man is speaking and acting because of the need to respond and fulfill. In representing God, obedience, response, and faithfulness are demanded because of God’s anointing. In other words, God is at work. When Judas commented on the ointment placed on Jesus and Peter and the disciples responded, to whom was it to be devoted? Judas or Jesus? Mary was a person after God’s heart. Judah was not a man of God.
They were to honor the Spirit of God in the woman, who at that time became the intercessor of Jesus Christ through the authority given by the Father. It is similar in the situation with Abraham and Sarah. Sarah said, “Send out the maidservant and her son.” Abraham said, “No, I love him and my son Ishmael.” And God said, “Do what your wife says.” At that time Sarah was interceding for God’s thoughts, so her intercession was in God’s order. Abraham had no authority to intercede because he was outside the authority of divine intercession.
As we have seen, there is a certain order in God’s design in creation. How blessed we are as we follow the Lord, so that the sense and purpose of His planned design may be seen through the flow of divine life. Our eyes perceive (Ephesians 1:18). The issue is always living within the plan of God’s purpose.
