Thoughts Turned into Action
- Song of Songs 5:2-3
When the mind of Christ rules in us, we, beloved of Christ, rest in only thoughts from Him. Thoughts get their true value in our life actions. Without the link from thoughts to action, how can Christ be revealed? A light is then raised, as a seed of thought breaks through the veil of faith to bring forth life from above. In this passage, she, who was ever beloved of God, was resting in the comfort of her thoughts. She was living all the satisfactions provided by her beloved. With that gift, comes the responsibility of presentation. We are called to hold nothing but the right to be ruled by God. It is inevitable to realize that, instead of being governed by anything, we are governed by Him who rules over all things. We achieve the thought that we have nothing so that we have given everything.
While she was staying with him in her thoughts, she was not in tune with her heart. If the oneness of their unity was in experience, there would be no difference in their choice for that moment. She was slow in her reply. When He ministers directly to us and we delay in our obedience, it grieves Christ. Seek the Lord while He is near. Approach him and call him. The delay will increase and the idea of removing the desire for humility in his call will intensify. While she was full for God, she was not full with God. His luxurious thoughts for God caused delay to God’s faithful love.
