Jayamsih! Welcome to today’s devotion.
The changing spots of a leopard.
Jeremiah 13:23
There was a son born to Enoch (Genesis 5:21), and this son was Methuselah, who lived to be the oldest man. Enoch, whom death did not destroy, produced a man who broke all records through our lifetime. Why did Enoch survive and prosper? He was one soul and one soul with God. There was no division in him to exhaust his feelings. There was nothing that could shake his nerves. There were no problems that would hamper his prospects. He was one with God. God said that the leopard could not change its spots, and Enoch agreed.
God said to Enoch, “I have cleansed you from blood, you can walk in faith,” and Enoch agreed. God said, “Satan has no way to get to you,” and Enoch agreed with this experience of his life. This is not consent without consequences. Many people agree that God is right, and then they live in defeat and despair. This is not true consent. It is only the sound of vain words, which are not united with the heart of God. Consent means that you are one soul with God. Your assent expresses the experience of the words you agree with.
Enoch knew what it meant to ‘walk with God’, because he was one with God in his walk. He wasted no time in changing his habits or in correcting his life. He just agreed and walked with God. To walk together with God means to be one in God’s word, even if we bow down, we come back agreeing about our failure and what He has done for it. God cannot change failure, that’s why He nailed it to the cross to change us.
